Motivation Issues

During coaching and leadership development classes, I am frequently asked “How do I motivate my employees, co-workers and even myself?”

Motivation is an internal state that has an auto-regulated component to it; it can be compared to an internal flame. As an influencer, I need to understand who the person is and what makes them tick. Use your interpersonal and leadership skills to revive the flames of fellow team members.

Below are a few suggestions:

What is really going on?

Look for the FACTS of what is affecting you. Is it a situation, a person, a lack of knowledge, withholding something you have to say, procrastination, unrealistic deadlines

Everyone is unique with unique needs, which one of your need’s is not being met?

Reward yourself.

Reward yourself for a job well done. Living with daily demands and continuous productivity, we tend to look at what we didn’t do instead of acknowledging everything we have done.
